Aurrigo International plc
("Aurrigo" or the "Company")
Launch of Auto-Shuttle® Trial in Canada
CAD$1m project to deploy an autonomous shuttle on public roads in Kanata,
Canada
Aurrigo International plc (AIM: AURR), a leading international provider of
transport technology solutions, is pleased to announce a new project with
Kanata North Business Association ("KNBA") and in collaboration with Area X.O,
operated by Invest Ottawa, and several project partners, to deploy Canada's
first all-season, medium-speed autonomous shuttle trial in Kanata North
Technology Park, Canada's largest technology park.
The nine-seat Auto-Shuttle® has been engineered to operate in challenging
Canadian conditions. With a total contract value of CAD$1 milion, the
Auto-Shuttle® will be delivered in H2 2025 and, following a period of
rigorous testing at Area X.O, Canada's all-weather R&D complex for
next-gen technologies, the vehicle is due to begin service on public roads in
Q4 2025, operating in mixed traffic at medium speeds.
This real-world Canadian testing environment provides valuable insights that
will support the advancement of Aurrigo's autonomous airport shuttle
solutions, which require reliable performance across diverse weather and
operational conditions. Lessons learned from Ottawa's four-season shuttle
trial will directly inform the refinement and deployment of Aurrigo's vehicles
in airport settings worldwide, where safety, inclusivity, and adaptability to
complex environments are critical.
David Keene, CEO of Aurrigo International, commented: "We are delighted to be
working with KNBA and Area X.O to deliver an Auto-Shuttle® for use on public
roads. Not only will this see our Auto-Shuttle® operate in all-weather
conditions but also provides an opportunity to demonstrate its capabilities in
a live traffic environment. As we continue to build on our go-to-market
efforts to bring our cutting edge, autonomous technologies to airports around
the world, this project demonstrates the robust capabilities of our products,
provides valuable insights into live operations and strengthens our presence
in the North American market."
Kelly Daize, Executive Director of KNBA, commented: "Kanata North is home to
Canada's largest technology park and more than 540 companies shaping the
future of mobility, connectivity, and innovation. This project is building on
our previous autonomous vehicle's trials, utilizing a commercial motor
vehicle, initially in the secure testbed at Area X.O and then moving on public
roads in the Kanata North Tech Park in Ottawa, is not only a historic first
for Canada-it's a powerful example of how industry, government, and community
can come together to test real-world solutions that improve accessibility,
advance safety, and create a blueprint for the future of transportation in all
seasons."
