Australia's Worley gains on securing new contracts in Europe

** Shares of the engineering contractor  WOR.AX  rise as
much as 4.9% to A$11.9
    ** Worley says it signed a two-year contract with CNOOC
Petroleum Europe, a unit of CNOOC Ltd  0883.HK , to provide
engineering, procurement and construction services to CNOOC

    ** WOR also signed a partnership agreement with Avantium
Renewable Polymers, a unit of Avantium N.V  AVTX.AS  for the
development of Avantium's renewable plastic feedstock plant in

    ** Worley will acquire a shareholding in Avantium in return
for a 10 million euros ($12.10 mln) equity investment
    ** Stock posts its biggest intraday percentage gain since
Jan. 13
    ** As of last close, WOR is down 1.3% this year
