ATHENS, May 2 (Reuters) - Greece has set July 10 as the
deadline for the submission of binding bids for a renewed
concession agreement for a major ring road in Athens,
privatisation agency HRADF said on Tuesday.
Greek construction groups Ellaktor HELr.AT and Avax
AVAr.AT now operate the Attica Motorway, a 70-km (44-mile)
road bypassing a usually congested Athens centre.
ΗRADF has shortlisted eight investors, including Vinci and
Macquarie, as part of a tender to extend the contract for
another 25 years after it expires in 2024.
It had previously set May 29 as a provisional deadline for
the bids but that date has been revised as the country is
heading to parliamentary elections on May 21, a source from
HRADF told Reuters.
