ECONOMY
(*) Italy's longest-running TV quiz show, offering big cash prizes, is called "The Inheritance" - a choice of title that may reflect how many Italians see a legacy as the ideal route to money, and explain why Rome taxes such gifts so lightly.
Yet raising Italy's inheritance tax levels closer to those of most of its peers could help ease the economic and social problems of the European Union's third-largest - but most chronically sluggish - economy, analysts say.
DEBT
Italy's Treasury said it planned to buy back four BTP bonds and one floating-rate CCTeu certificate, all maturing next year, in a reverse action on Wednesday using cash reserves held at the bank of Italy.

The Italian government will hold onto its remaining 4.9% stake in the bailed-out bank, while it incorporates its recently-acquired rival Mediobanca MDBI.MI, two sources close to the matter told Reuters.
But Giorgia Meloni's government is counting on a future merger deal to eventually cut the shareholding, the sources said.
STELLANTIS STLAM.MI
John Elkann, chairman of the Franco-Italian carmaker urged the European Commission on Monday to give carmakers more flexibility on emissions targets, saying interim goals fixed for 2030 should be averaged over several years.

The rocket maker said on Monday it had raised a total of 395 million euros ($458.04 million) in its capital hike, which ended on Monday with 98.83% of all new shares being subscribed.
(*) IVECO IVG.MI
The European Commission approved on Monday the sale of the truck maker to India's Tata Motors TAMO.NS, saying the deal did not raise competition concerns.

(*) M&A - GOLDEN GOOSE
Talks with China's HongShan for the sale of the luxury sneaker maker are not exclusive yet and the private equity firm is expected to sign a binding offer by December 3, la Repubblica reported on Tuesday. The 2.5 billion euro valuation could be improved and the deal could be closed by Christmas, the report said, adding that Golden Goose's owners Permira and Carlyle also received interest for a minority share in the group, including from China's Blue Pool.
