Axe Compute jumps as firm names Kyle Okamoto president to drive AI growth

** Shares of AI data centre operator Axe Compute AGPU.O rise 4.2% to $4.24 premarket

** Co says it has appointed Kyle Okamoto as president, effective April 1

** Co says Okamoto will lead growth strategy and operations as demand rises for computing power used to train and run artificial intelligence systems

** He joins from decentralized cloud firm Aethir, where he helped expand access to more than 400,000 graphics processing units, or high-end chips used in AI - AGPU

** Co says Okamoto’s experience in building large-scale computing networks will help it compete with big cloud providers and win enterprise clients

** As of last close, stock down ~43% YTD
