Badger Meter rises on SmartCover Systems purchase, Q4 sales beat

** Shares of fluid meters manufacturer Badger Meter  BMI.N 
up 4.12% at $217.32, recording the biggest one-day rise in about
three months at session-high of $221.99
    ** Company acquires SmartCover Systems, which provides
sensors, software and related services to monitor sewer levels,
from XPV Water Partners for $185 mln
    ** Also reports Q4 sales of $205.2 mln, above analysts'
average estimate of $202.2 mln
    ** "As we enter 2025, demand environment for our end-to-end
smart water offerings remains resilient, remain committed to
goals, including delivering high single-digit sales growth rates
over the cycle" - CEO Kenneth Bockhorst
    ** Shares rose ~37.41% in 2024
