The following factors could affect Italian markets on Friday.

The Treasury announces details for the next BTP Short and BTP€I auction.

COMPANIES
(*) MONTE DEI PASCHI (MPS) BMPS.MI 
Italy's Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena launched on Friday all-share exchange offers for rival Banco BPM BAMI.MI and asset manager Banca Generali BGN.MI worth €25.3 billion and €8.7 billion respectively.
Corriere della Sera and other newspapers reported on Friday that Intesa may present a complaint to the Milan bourse watchdog Consob regarding MPS' latest moves.

BANCA GENERALI BGN.MI 
The Generali-controlled GASI.MI wealth manager's board will meet on Friday to assess the MPS bid, a source said on Thursday.

FINCANTIERI FCT.MI 
The Italian shipbuilder signed a contract with the international cruise operator Viking VIK.N on Thursday for two new cruise ships for a total value of between €500 million and €1 billion.

Private equity firm Advent International is considering purchasing further shares in Italian rocket maker Avio in addition to the stake of about 7% it will hold following a planned reserved share issue, Il Sole 24 Ore and other dailies reported on Friday.

DIARY 
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will attend the opening ceremony of the 2026 Mediterranean games at 1815 GMT in the southern city of Taranto. She is expected to meet Lebanese President Joseph Aou, who will also attend the ceremony.
