Banca IFIS plummets after guidance cut, new provisions
BUZZ-Banca IFIS plummets after guidance cut, new provisions ** Shares in Banca IFIS IF.MI fall more than 20% in choppy trade after the Italian specialty lender cut its 2026 net profit guidance as it set aside additional provisions following a supervisory audit
** It now sees net income of €100-€110 million ($114-$125 million), vs €170-€190 million previously
** Brokerage EQUITA says the revision of the guidance and the need for further provisions are negative elements, parts of a transition year dedicated to integration and de-risking
** "We believe that the focus remains the ability to recover profitability in 2027," the broker adds
** The stock heads for its worst single-day drop ever if losses hold
** Shares hit lowest price since February 2024
