MEETING OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS MINISTERS
Britain's foreign minister will host European peers on Monday to discuss support for Ukraine and greater regional defence cooperation in the run-up to Prime Minister Keir Starmer's summit with European Union leaders next week.
UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy was due to hold talks with representatives of France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Poland and the EU, Britain's foreign ministry said.
PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS
The candidate from Poland's ruling Civic Coalition (KO), Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski, is in the lead ahead of a May 18 presidential election, with support of 30%, a poll by Opinia24 for the Newsweek weekly showed on Sunday.
Karol Nawrocki, the candidate supported by the main opposition party, Law and Justice (PiS), has 25% support. He is followed by the far-right Confederation party candidate Slawomir Mentzen, with 13%.
NUCLEAR POWER PLANT
Piotr Piela, acting CEO of the Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe, the company building the first Polish nuclear power plant, said the company would like the European Commission to approve state aid for the Polish nuclear power plant by the end of the year, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.
BANK MILLENNIUM
Bank Millennium MILP.WA, the Polish arm of Portugal's Millennium BCP BCP.LS, reported a 40% rise in its first-quarter net profit on Monday, thanks to higher net interest income and lower costs related to its foreign currency mortgage portfolio.
CCC
Polish footwear and fashion retailer CCC CCCP.WA reported a 25% rise in first-quarter core profit, driven by strong cost discipline that reduced its cost-to-revenue ratio by nearly 2 percentage points to 43.9% from 45.5% a year earlier.
AIRPLANE FOR LOT
Michal Nowak, head of marketing and strategy at Embraer EMBR3.SA, said that if the company wins the tender for regional aircraft for Polish carrier LOT, it will be able to deliver them in 2026, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily reported.
DEBT
On Monday at 1300 the Ministry of Finance will announce the supply of bonds for the auction on Wednesday.
