FUEL TAX
The Ministry of Finance announced that the validity period of reduced VAT and excise tax rates on petrol and diesel has been extended until May 15.
MACRO INDICATORS
During Tuesday's meeting of the Polish government, the Minister of Finance will present a draft of multi-year macroeconomic assumptions for 2026-2030. The public finance sector deficit is expected to reach 6.8% of GDP in 2026, and the public debt-to-GDP ratio will exceed 65%, the Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily reported.
PRESIDENT IN CROATIA
Polish President Karol Nawrocki is visiting Croatia, where he will participate in the Three Seas Initiative Summit. Energy cooperation will be one of the main topics of the meeting of the Three Seas Initiative leaders, the president's press office reported.
VISIT TO ALGERIA
On Tuesday, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski begins his visit to Algeria. This is the first visit by a Polish foreign minister to Algeria since 2017, the government press office said.
BANK MILLENNIUM
Polish lender Bank Millennium MILP.WA reported a 68% rise in its first-quarter net profit which narrowly beat market expectations on Tuesday, helped by lower provisions for its legacy Swiss-franc mortgage loan portfolio.
EUROCASH
Polish retailer and wholesaler Eurocash EUR.WA is expected to report a 24% drop in fourth-quarter net profit to 58 million zlotys ($16 million), dragged down by financing and one-off costs, a Reuters poll of four analysts showed on Monday.
