The three major U.S. indexes fell on Thursday after conflicting headlines on
U.S.-China trade relations and a row between the world's top two economies over
the Hong Kong protest led to uncertainty over the timing of a deal to end the
dispute. .N 
    At 10:58 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 0.30% at
27,736.45. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 0.28% at 3,099.82 and the Nasdaq
Composite  .IXIC  was down 0.30% at 8,500.769.
