** British homebuilders index .FTNMX402020 up 1.2% after Goldman Sachs initiates coverage of the sector with 'a constructive outlook'

** Brokerage says while there is some overhang ahead of the UK budget, it expects the budget to be a 'clearing event' that should bring back focus to improving housing indicators and boost affordability

** Shares of Vistry VTYV.L up 6%, top gainer on FTSE mid-caps .FTMC index

** UK homebuilders Berkeley Group Holding BKGH.L, Barratt Redrow BTRW.L, Taylor Wimpey TW.L and Persimmon PSN.L marginally up between 0.2% and 0.8%

** Sub-index .FTNMX402020 down 4.2% YTD
