Australia's Base Resources stumbles on weak quarter

** Shares of Australia's Base Resources Ltd BSE.AX fall as
much as 14.3% to A$0.120, their lowest since May 4, 2020
** Mineral sands producer says quarterly ilmenite production
from co's Kwale operation in Kenya was 38,800 tonnes, down from
86,000 tonnes a year ago
** Says quarterly ore mined fell to 4.1 mln metric tons
(mmt), from 4.4 mmt a year ago
** Adds quarterly rutile production fell to 9,600 tons from
18,900 tons last year
** More than 2.2 mln shares change hands, compared with the
30-day average volume of 1 mln
** Stock down 37.8% YTD as of\ last close
