July 24 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 2000 GMT on Thursday:

** Italy's Monte dei Paschi BMPS.MI is focused on its takeover offer for Mediobanca MDBI.MI, its chief executive said, adding further deals would be something the state-backed bank could consider only in the future. nL1N3TL10B

** Union Pacific UNP.N, the largest U.S. railroad operator, said it is in advanced talks with rival Norfolk Southern NSC.N, signaling that a deal to form a $200 billion coast-to-coast rail company could be close - and potentially trigger further consolidation among remaining freight rail giants. nL4N3TL1FJ

** U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said that TikTok will have to stop operating in the United States if China does not approve a deal for the sale of the Chinese-owned short video app that is used by some 170 million Americans. nL4N3TL1PJ

** Carrefour CARR.PA, Europe's biggest food retailer, has agreed to sell its loss-making business in Italy to food and drinks manufacturer NewPrinces Group NWLF.MI as part of a strategic review kicked off earlier this year. nL1N3TL0UO

** European Union judges could review chipmaker Broadcom's AVGO.O $69 billion acquisition of cloud computing firm VMware, after an antitrust complaint opposed the bloc's approval of one of the biggest takeovers in the technology industry. nL4N3TL1Z8

** EU antitrust regulators will investigate whether U.S. investment firm KKR KKR.N provided incorrect or misleading information in its 22 billion euro ($26 billion) acquisition of Telecom Italia's (TIM) TLIT.MI fixed-line network deal, the European Commission said. nL8N3TL247

** Danish biotech Bavarian Nordic BAVA.CO said it is in discussions with a consortium of Nordic Capital and Permira regarding a potential takeover offer from the two private equity groups, sending its share price up 24%. nL8N3TL1UC

** City Office REIT  said it has agreed to be acquired by private investment firm MCME Carell Holdings for $7 per share in cash. nL4N3TL11B

** German electronics retailer Ceconomy CECG.DE confirmed on Thursday it was in advanced negotiations with China's JD.com 9618.HK over a potential public takeover for 4.60 euros per ordinary share. nFWN3TL1HM

** France's Pernod Ricard  has agreed to sell its Imperial Blue whisky brand to India's Tilaknagar Industries  for an enterprise value of 412.6 million euros ($486 million), as the spirits group boosts its focus on premium labels. nL8N3TK1N0

** Healthcare software firm Waystar  said on Wednesday it would buy privately held Iodine Software in a deal worth over $1.25 billion, including debt, to expand its use of artificial intelligence in healthcare payments and reduce claim denials. nL4N3TK1VS

** Brazilian food delivery app iFood, owned by Dutch technology investor Prosus , is in advanced talks to buy meal voucher company Alelo for about 5 billion reais ($904.75 million), the Valor Economico newspaper reported on Wednesday, citing sources. nL1N3TK0VS

** Spain's Sabadell SABE.MC pledged on Thursday to boost profits and payouts for shareholders, including from the recently-agreed sale of UK arm TSB, as the bank set out its case to remain independent in the face of a hostile bid from bigger rival BBVA. nL8N3TL03M

** Dubai-based Sidara is considering reducing the price of its takeover bid for Wood Group WG.L, as Britain's financial watchdog has launched a probe into the oilfield services provider, the Financial Times reported on Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter. nL4N3TL0C1

** One Rock Capital Partners, a U.S. private equity firm, is one of the few remaining bidders for BP's BP.L Castrol lubricants business, Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter. nL4N3TK1SM
