German car industry association seeks clarity on new security law BERLIN, Aug 12 (Reuters) - Germany's VDA auto industry association on Wednesday backed plans to reform security laws but said there was a particular need to clarify planned new cooperation duties for the country's car industry.
President Hildegard Mueller said that a modern, legally robust framework was needed and warned it must not result in a precautionary collection of additional vehicle data or a general obligation to gather extra data for possible future requests.
