FRANKFURT, Jan 15 (Reuters) - German prosecutors have carried out searches of private properties in connection with an investigation into embattled German agricultural supplies trader BayWa BYWGnx.DE, Sueddeutsche Zeitung reported on Thursday.
The newspaper cited prosecutor Florian Lindemann as saying private premises of unnamed suspects have been searched. The paper cited the company as saying it would continue to cooperate fully with authorities, declining to comment further.
The company, whose debt-financed expansion abroad led it to the brink of bankruptcy, said last week its CEO Frank Hiller would step down with immediate effect. The company is being investigated over the accuracy of its financial reporting.
