London-listed BBGI surges on its acquisition by BCI in $1.32 billion deal

** Shares of BBGI Global Infrastructure S.A.  BBGIB.L  surge
as much as 19.9% to 146p, their highest since June 2023
    ** Stock top gainer on FTSE 250  .FTMC  index
    ** Canada's British Columbia Investment Management Corp will
buy the Luxembourg-based investment firm in a deal valuing the
company at 1.06 billion pounds ($1.32 billion), the companies
said
    ** BBGI shareholders will get 147.5p-per-share in cash, a
premium of 21% to the stock's closing price on Wednesday
    ** Stock had fallen 12% in 2024
