Australia's BCAL Diagnostics soars on development of new blood test for breast cancer

** Shares of Australia's BCAL Diagnostics BDX.AX gain as much as 133.3% to A$0.140, set for biggest gain since August 2, 2023
** Stock hit its highest level since January 16
** Biotechnology co develops a blood test, "BREASTEST" monitor - a simpler way for women to be evaluated for local recurrence of breast cancer
** Co's preliminary findings in women aged 50 years and above show the test identified 20 of 23 confirmed local recurrence cases
** Adds, BREASTEST will enter the market as an adjunct to imaging, while it plans to eventually develop it as a standalone surveillance test
** 11.5 million shares trade hands vs 30-day average of 145,162 shares
** Shares down 12.38% YTD
