SINGAPORE, April 8 (Reuters) - China's natural gas demand
will rise by 30 billion to 40 billion cubic metres in 2019,
after record growth in 2018, as the government continues to
switch away from coal and a tax cut lowers the cost of gas, a
senior industry executive said.
     Li Yalan, Chairwoman of Beijing Gas Group, the main
supplier to the Chinese capital, said that gas demand will rise
because of the government's gasification campaign and as lower
gas prices spurs demand from industrial users. 
    "The broad direction is not going to change, which is to
restructure the energy mix by increasing the share of natural
gas," Li told Reuters in a phone interview on Friday.
