** Shares of Bharat Electronics BAJE.NS rise 1.5% to 409.95 rupees

** BAJE and France's Safran Electronics and Defence signed a joint venture cooperation agreement, India's defence ministry said in a statement

** Agreement for production of highly agile modular munition extended range (HAMMER) smart precision guided air-to-ground weapon in India

** To incorporate a potential joint venture company in India with BAJE and Safran Electronics holding 50% stake each

** Transfer of production will happen in a phased manner with BAJE leading final assembly, testing, and quality assurance

** BAJE up ~40% YTD
