DATA
IHS Markit is due to publish manufacturing PMI data for
January.
VAT
The VAT rate on the majority of food products was cut to 0%
from Tuesday, and on fuel to 8%, but clients should not expect
much lower prices in shops, Rzeczpospolita daily said.
UKRAINE
Poland will supply Ukraine with anti-aircraft missiles, the
head of the National Security Bureau told broadcaster Polsat
News.
Pawel Soloch also said some of the 8,500 soldiers the United
States has declared would be moved to NATO's Eastern flank could
be stationed in Poland.
DEMOGRAPHY
Only 331,000 children were born in Poland in 2021, the
lowest number since the end of the Second World War, a report by
the statistics office cited by daily Gazeta Wyborcza showed.
ENERGY
According to a report by think-tank Ember Climate, Poland
has produced nearly a third of all energy from coal in the
European Union and its emissions from energy production were 7%
higher than in 2019, Puls Biznesu daily said.
