Poland - Factors to Watch Jan 31

Jan 31 (Reuters) - The following are news stories, press
reports and events that could affect Poland's financial markets
on Monday. ALL TIMES GMT (Poland: GMT + 1 hour):

    DATA
Poland's finance ministry is due to publish bond supply for
February. Poland's statistics office to release flash GDP data
for 2021.

    UKRAINE
Ukraine's Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov has said that
for the time being Russia has not amassed forces near Ukraine's
borders that are ready to invade. He warned against panic and
called for deliveries of weapons, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.

    TAXES
For the first time in the history of economic condition
surveys, unclear, inconsistent and volatile regulations have
become a greater barrier for companies to do business than the
amount of taxes. Economists and businesspeople blame the tax
system overhaul introduced this year, Rzeczpospolita daily said.

    CONSUMER BANKRUPTCIES
The number of consumer bankruptcies is growing at a rapid
pace. This year it may top 25,000, due to the increase of
interest rates and credit instalments among others,
Rzeczpospolita daily reported.

    ELECTION POLL
According to a poll by United Surveys for Dziennik Gazeta
Prawna daily and radio RMF FM, support for the ruling Law and
Justice (PiS) is at 33%, for Civic Coalition at 26% and for
Poland 2050 at 11%. The Polish Peasants' Party, the Left Party
and the Confederation would also win seats in parliament. It
means that it is uncertain whether PiS could govern on its own,
the newspaper said.

    COMPANIES
The conflict in the East will not only hinder the trade
exchange and worsen the situation of Polish enterprises
operating there, but it may also affect the Polish stock market.
However, companies want to stay in Ukraine, Dziennik Gazeta
Prawna Daily said.

    FX LOANS
The incentive to convert foreign currency loans is
decreasing, as clients do not want to pay higher instalments in
PLN. This may change if the ECB raises rates, Puls Biznesu daily
said.
