** Shares of biopharma firm BioXcel Therapeutics BTAI.O rise 11.6% to $2.02 premarket

** BTAI says it has received a second positive recommendation from an independent data safety monitoring board to continue the late-stage study of its experimental drug to treat agitation in patients with bipolar I or II disorder or schizophrenia

** BTAI is testing, BXCL501, for the treatment of agitation associated with Alzheimer’s dementia and bipolar I or II disorder or schizophrenia in the at-home setting in 200 patients

** The company expects the late-stage study data in Q3 2025

** As of last close, stock down 69.7% YTD
