58.6 carat diamond sold for USD585,000

Three large diamonds sold for USD1.1m

 

BlueRock Diamonds PLC, the AIM listed diamond producer, which owns and operates the Kareevlei Diamond Mine ('Kareevlei') in the Kimberley region of South Africa, is pleased to announce, in accordance with its announcement policy, the sale of three recently recovered gem quality stones of 58.6 carats, 21.6 carats and 14.3 carats.  The stones were sold for USD585,000, USD268,000 and USD236,000 respectively for a total of USD1.1m.

 

Mike Houston, Executive Chairman said, "We are delighted with the price achieved for each of these high-quality diamonds, which brought the total sales proceeds for the August tender to USD2.1m, far exceeding the previous highest monthly sale of approximately USD900,000.  The average price per carat for the whole parcel was approximately USD800."
