BP's ousted chair Manifold disputes accusations of wrongdoing, Bloomberg News reports May 26 (Reuters) - BP's BP.L ousted chair Albert Manifold has pushed back against what he described as a "false narrative" surrounding his removal from the British oil major, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday, citing a statement from him.
BP's board on Tuesday ousted Manifold and expressed serious concerns about his governance standards, oversight and conduct, driving its share price down as much as 10%.
"I was removed without warning and without explanation," Bloomberg News quoted Manifold as saying in an emailed statement. "I dispute entirely the characterization of my conduct and I will not allow a false narrative to go unchallenged."
