Brembo raises revenue growth forecast after solid quarter, shares jump (updated)

UPDATE 1-Brembo raises revenue growth forecast after solid quarter, shares jump

Adds executive chairman comments to Reuters, details

- Italian premium brake maker Brembo BRBI.MI on Wednesday raised its forecast for full-year revenue growth after quarterly results that Executive Chairman Matteo Tiraboschi described as better than expected, sending its shares up over 10%.

The company guided for its revenue to rise about 5% this year at constant exchange rates, versus an already improved forecast for 3% growth provided in May.

Tiraboschi told Reuters that Brembo was seeing growth across all geographies - although with China struggling because of internal market factors - and across all business lines, including motorcycles and commercial vehicles.

"Growth trends have suggested a positive outlook for 2026," he said.

Milan-listed shares erased early losses after results were published to surge as much as 13.3%. By 1450 GMT they were up 8.9%.

WORKABLE MIDDLE EAST SETUP

Brembo brightened its outlook despite the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, which continue to affect energy costs and raw material supplies, particularly aluminium.

"We had to find alternative suppliers, which has added to the complexity of managing the supply chain," he said. "We have found a workable setup... although the new setup is clearly more expensive than the original one."

The Bergamo-based company on Wednesday forecast a full-year margin on its core profit (EBITDA) of 16.5%, in line with 2025.

Tiraboschi said Brembo's Sensify intelligent braking system advanced significantly in the first half, with production launched for a global automaker, new contracts secured and a partnership to support large-scale adoption in China, "confirming the growth potential of this innovative platform in the long term".

The system is still in the ramp-up phase, however, and will only make a meaningful contribution to results in 2027, he added.

In the second quarter, Brembo reported a 9.8% core profit increase to €162 million ($184 million), while revenue grew 6.4% to €983 million.
