The following factors could affect Italian markets on Friday.

    POLITICS
    Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Thursday an
investigation targeting her over the release of a Libyan war
crimes suspect was bad publicity that could push away
much-needed foreign investment.
    Italy's data protection authority said on Thursday it had
blocked Chinese artificial intelligence model DeepSeek over a
lack of information on its use of personal data.
    
    ECONOMY
    The Italian economy stagnated in the fourth quarter of last
year from the previous three months, preliminary data showed on
Thursday, missing a forecast for marginal growth and casting a
shadow over prospects for this year.
    ISTAT releases Q4 wage inflation data (0900 GMT) and
December producer prices data (1000 GMT).

    GENERALI  GASI.MI 
    Italy's biggest insurer on Thursday promised shareholders
more than 8.5 billion euros ($8.9 billion) in dividends and
share buybacks under a new strategy through 2027, as CEO
Philippe Donnet prepares to fight for reappointment.
    
    BANCO BPM  BAMI.MI 
    The lender said on Thursday that its board would meet on
Feb. 11 to approve an update of its strategic plan.
    
    FERRAGAMO  SFER.MI 
    Sales at the Italian luxury goods group dropped by 4% at
constant currencies last year, flagging "encouraging results"
from its direct-to-consumer sales which were overall flat in the
last three months of the year.
        
    BREMBO  BRBI.MI 
    Shares in the brake maker closed up nearly 7% on Thursday,
after its 2024 preliminary results reported stable preliminary
results for 2024, in line with its yearly guidance, despite
difficulties the automotive sector is going through.
