Italy - Factors to watch on July 29

The following factors could affect Italian markets on Tuesday.

ECONOMY

ISTAT releases June non-EU foreign trade data (0800 GMT).

DEBT

Treasury sells 6.5 billion euros 6-month BOT bills. Subscriptions close at 0900 GMT.

COMPANIES

STELLANTIS STLAM.MI

(*) The carmaker guided on Tuesday for increased net revenues and a low-single digit operating income margin in the second half despite increasing headwinds, as the automaker aims for a gradual recovery after a tough first half.

WEBUILD WDB.MI

The Italian government is expected to give the green light for a multibillion-euro bridge between Sicily and the mainland next week, paving the way for construction work to finally start on the long-awaited project, a source said on Monday. A consortium led by Italy's Webuild is responsible for the construction.

Spanish power utility Endesa ELE.MC, owned by the Italian energy giant, posted on Tuesday a 30% increase in first-half net profit and warned that the proposed remuneration framework for power grids investments in Spain doesn't offer the right incentives.

Mediobanca's biggest investor, Delfin, will continue to assess Monte dei Paschi's "very interesting" offer for the merchant bank, the chairman of the holding said on Tuesday.

"Any possible adjustment in the bid which will reflect Mediobanca's market price would make the offer more attractive for investors," Francesco Milleri said in an interview with Italian daily Corriere della Sera.

Mediobanca's CEO and president have sent a letter in past days to top executives at Generali to urge a commitment, by August 6, for a potential distribution deal as part of the merchant bank's bid on Banca Generali, Il Sole 24 Ore reported on Tuesday.

Two small Mediobanca investors, the Gavio and Lucchini families, part of the bank's shareholder pact, sold on Monday shares worth a total of 0.04% in the merchant bank, four filings showed.

BPER said on Monday that it secured 80.6% of Popolare di Sondrio tendered shares but conditions for the delisting of Pop Sondrio  have not been met and its shares will continue to be traded on the Milan bourse. BPER added that it now holds more than 66.67% of Pop Sondrio's capital, giving it sufficient voting rights to approve resolutions at extraordinary shareholders' meetings, including a potential merger.

The French-Italian chipmaker pledged it will not close any plants nor will it layoff staff in Italy and confirmed its planned investments at its Catania and Agrate Brianza production sites after a meeting with trade unions and regional authorities on Monday, Italian media reported.

Investment vehicle NUO Capital, through Octagon Bidco, has reached 96.431% of the Italian coffee pot maker's share capital, Bialetti said on Monday in a statement adding that its shares will be delisted on August 7.
