BriaCell surges as cancer therapy helps extend patients' lives in study

** U.S.-listed shares of Canada-based BriaCell Therapeutics
 BCT.TO  rise 22.8% to 76 cents
    ** Co says its experimental breast cancer combination
therapy helped patients live for an average of 15.6 months after
treatment in a mid-stage study
    ** Co had reported an overall survival (OS) of 13.4 months
from the study in Dec 2023, which included patients treated
during COVID-19 pandemic
    ** Wednesday's data represents an additional six months of
follow-up of the data reported in December, with patients
enrolled post-COVID and treated with the same formulation used
in an ongoing late-stage study  - BCTX 
    ** "This is likely the more accurate median OS" as it more
accurately reflects the late-stage study population in a
post-COVID setting, H.C. Wainwright analyst Emily Bodnar said
    ** Including session gains, U.S.-listed stock down ~79% YTD
