** Rocket Lab <RKLB.O> struck an $8 billion deal to acquire satellite communications provider Iridium Communications <IRDM.O>, betting that owning everything from rockets to satellite networks will define the next generation of space companies. nL6N4310O4
** Matador Resources <MTDR.N> said its midstream joint venture San Mateo Midstream will acquire the operating units of Cardinal Midstream Partners for $752 million in cash, expanding its natural gas gathering and processing footprint in the Delaware Basin. nL4N4310RJ
** Private equity group CVC Capital Partners <CVC.AS> has agreed to acquire Italian industrial automation company Clevertech from the Reggiani family, it said. nL6N4310PK
