NZ's Briscoe hits record high on strong quarterly sales

** Shares of retail chain Briscoe Group Ltd  BGP.NZ  rise as
much as 4.5% to a record high of NZ$5.85 
    ** The Auckland-based firm reports sales of NZ$248.1 mln 
($179.03 mln) for the fourth quarter, an increase of 18.3% from

    ** Says same-store same-day sales jumped 11.9% in Q4    
    ** Co expects a net profit after tax of at least NZ$70 mln
for the full year, compared with NZ$62.6 mln a year earlier 
    ** Stock posts its biggest intraday pct jump since Dec. 16
and is on track for a fifth straight day of gains 
    ** Stock has added 6.7% this year, as of last close
