ECONOMY

ISTAT releases November monthly bulletin on the state of the economy in November and December (0900 GMT).

Bank of Italy releases November data on Italian residents deposits with domestic banks, banks lending to non-financial companies and gross bad loans at Italian banks.

DEBT

Treasury sells 3.5-4 billion euros new 2.40% BTP bonds due March 15, 2029. Subscriptions close at 1000 GMT.

COMPANIES

UniCredit CEO Andrea Orcel has discussed potentially buying the stake in Monte dei Paschi di Siena (MPS) held by Delfin in contacts with the head of the Italian holding company, three people close to the matter told Reuters.

France's lender Credit Agricole CAGR.PA said on Monday it had received European Central Bank approval to raise its stake in the Italian bank above 20%, cementing its position as a long-term shareholder in Italy's third-largest bank.

Frances's EDF could list up to 30% of its Edison unit, valuing the Italian utility at around 10 billion euros, daily Il Sole 24 Ore reported on Tuesday.

The French energy group is set to pick the financial advisers for the deal in mid-February, according to the newspaper.

The Italian luxury group said on Monday revenues had risen 11.5% at constant exchange rates last year, in line with its most recent guidance, boosted by solid growth across all regions, and particularly in the Americas and in Asia.
