    Bank of Italy releases January data on Target 2 liabilities
and European Central Bank funding to Italian banks.
    
    DEBT
    Treasury announces sale of 12-month BOT bills, with relative
amounts to be auctioned on Feb. 12.
    
    COMPANIES
    GENERALI  GASI.MI 
    One of the insurer's biggest investors is considering
challenging the reappointment of longstanding CEO Philippe
Donnet in May and is weighing potential alternative candidates
to lead Italy's biggest insurer, four sources close to the
matter said.
    
    BANCA MEDIOLANUM  BMED.MI 
    The Italian bank has not yet made a decision on Banca Monte
dei Paschi's  BMPS.MI  bid for Mediobanca  MDBI.MI , its Chief
Executive Massimo Doris said on Thursday, after it posted its
best-ever net profit.
    
    BANCA POPOLARE DI SONDRIO  BPSI.MI 
    The regional bank proposed a dividend of 0.80 euros per
share on Thursday, up more than 40% from 0.56 euros in 2023. It
also decided to increase its payout ratio to 63% from 53%, after
posting a 25% increase in its full-year net profit, that came in
at 574.9 million euros.
    
    BPER BANCA  EMII.MI 
    Conference call on preliminary FY results (0730 GMT).
    
    IVECO GROUP  IVG.MI 
    Releases FY results, followed by conference call (1000 GMT).
    
    BUZZI  BZU.MI 
    Releases preliminary FY results.
    
    DIARY
        Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani in Nice to meet European
and Foreign French Minister Jean-Noel Barrot on bilateral
relations between Italy and France, discuss major international
crises and look ahead to upcoming European and multilateral
deadlines (1400 GMT); followed by press point. Tajani also
chairs Franco-Italian Border Cooperation Committee (CCF) meeting
(1500 GMT).
  
    Rome, Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti attends ceremony
for the start of the academic year at the economic and financial
police school (0900 GMT).
