Caesars says FTC seeks more information on Fertitta buyout
Caesars says FTC seeks more information on Fertitta buyout Sept 17 (Reuters) - Caesars Entertainment CZR.O said on Thursday the company and Fertitta Entertainment had received a US Federal Trade Commission request for additional information related to the regulator's review of the proposed buyout.
Here are some more details:
Caesars and Fertitta Entertainment have received a "second request" from the FTC on September 14, according to a regulatory filing.
Hospitality billionaire Tilman Fertitta's firm, which owns Golden Nugget Hotel and Casinos and the NBA's Houston Rockets, had offered to buy Caesars in a $17.6 billion deal earlier in May this year.
Caesars also said Jesse Lynn and Ted Papapostolou would resign from the company's board, effective immediately, adding that the Icahn Group had waived its right to appoint replacement directors.
Lynn and Papapostolou had joined the casino operator's board last year, as part of an agreement with activist investor Carl Icahn.
