MILAN, Oct 28 (Reuters) - Italian tycoon Francesco
Gaetano Caltagirone, a key investor in Mediobanca MDBI.MI with
a stake of around 5.6%, will not attend a shareholder meeting at
the company on Friday, a source close to the bank said.
In the past, Caltagirone has criticized Chief Executive
Alberto Nagel's management of the company.
He had also unsuccessfully challenged Nagel over the
re-appointment of Philippe Donnet as CEO of Italy's top insurer
Generali GASI.MI , in which Mediobanca and the business man are
the top two shareholders.
