** Shares of Canara HSBC Life Insurance CANR.NS jump 8% to 148 rupees

** The life insurer posted a 10% y/y rise in Q3  pre-tax profit; PAT inched down as co had availed a tax credit in the year-ago qtr

** Annualised premium equivalent sales, a key metric that calculates the annualised total value of single and recurring premium policies, rose 37%

** Value of New Business, or expected profit from new policies, grew by 60% y/y with VNB margin expanding 210 basis points to 19.7% as of Dec-end

** Motilal Oswal increases APE estimates by 3% and VNB margin estimates by 30bps for FY26, on strong Q3 performance

** Stock is up about 40% since listing in October
