capAI plc
(the "Company" and, together with its subsidiaries and subsidiary
undertakings, the "Group" or "capAI")
capMedia Inc Hires AI Innovator Jayne Lytel
as First Senior Hire to Drive Creative Platform Architecture
capAI (LSE: CPAI) is pleased to announce the hire of Jayne Lytel to oversee AI
architecture at its California-based subsidiary, capMedia Inc.
As the first senior hire to capMedia's tiny team beyond its founding nucleus,
Jayne will lead the design and development of the AI architecture powering the
Group's creative platforms; Author42, Creator42, and Game42. Her appointment
marks the start of a carefully sequenced build-out of up to four hires in
engineering, growth, and partnerships to accelerate commercialisation.
Jayne is an AI Fellow at the R42 Institute and a published author, editor,
technologist, and AI innovator with over 30 years' experience at the
intersection of publishing and technology.
About Jayne Lytel
· Author of Act Early Against Autism: Give Your Child at Fighting
Chance (Penguin, 2008).
· Former syndicated technology columnist with United Media.
· Founding editor and publisher of The Internet Letter (1993), the
first newsletter tracking the commercial rise of the Internet.
· Former copy editor at The Washington Post.
· Senior technology roles including NASA contractor on cybersecurity and
Lead Technologist at Booz Allen Hamilton, advising the U.S. Department of
Homeland Security.
· Selected as an AI Fellow at the R42 Institute in 2025, where she
co-developed Author42 under the leadership of Professor Ronjon Nag and
presented it at the R42 Demo Day.
This unique blend of publishing, cybersecurity and AI expertise positions her
to architect capMedia's integrated platforms spanning publishing, film, and
gaming.
Strategic Rationale
Jayne will focus on:
· Designing and optimising core AI systems across Author42,
Creator42, and Game42 to deliver scalable performance.
· Enabling seamless pathways from book creation to cinematic adaptation
to interactive gaming to open revenue streams.
· Embedding scalability, editorial integrity, and enterprise-grade
security to ensure the platforms are globally deployable.
Her appointment represents a key milestone in capMedia's growth and reinforces
the Group's strategy of combining deep editorial and IT expertise within
focused "tiny teams".
Building the Tiny Team
capMedia's "tiny team" build-out will continue in the near term with up to
four senior hires designed to multiply growth:
· Growth Hacker / Social Media Lead - driving viral adoption, community
growth, and brand reach.
· AI Engineers (1-2) - advancing the Group's generative and multimodal
AI systems, likely drawn from contributors at the R42 Institute.
· Partnerships Lead - securing strategic relationships across
publishing, film, and gaming, embedding capMedia's platforms into global
creative workflows.
This sequenced hiring strategy is designed to deliver high-impact, scalable
outcomes.
Management Commentary
Professor Ronjon Nag, Executive Director of capAI, commented:
"Jayne's appointment underscores the technical and editorial depth we are
bringing into capMedia. Her work at the R42 Institute shaped Author42, and as
AI Architect she will help scale Author42, Creator42, and Game42 into
commercial reality - strengthening our strategy and positioning capMedia for
long-term value creation."
Jayne Lytel added:
"capMedia is at the forefront of AI-driven creativity, and I am excited to
join as AI Architect. Author42, Creator42, and Game42 represent a significant
opportunity to redefine how stories move from page to screen to interactive
worlds, empowering creators globally."
