Description: Global stock markets took a hit after a shock contraction in
Chinese trade suggested the world's second-biggest-economy was losing
momentum. Newmont Mining said it would buy Goldcorp in a deal valued at $10
billion, creating the world's biggest gold producer by output. MNG Enterprises
has offered to buy Gannet, the publisher of USA Today, for $1.3 billion.
