Following are news stories, press reports and events that may
affect Poland's financial markets on Monday. ALL TIMES GMT
(Poland: GMT + 2 hours):
RESIDENTIAL REAL ESTATE
Warsaw remained last year Poland's most pricey city when it
comes to residential real estate. The average price of a flat
hovers around 8,088 zloty ($2,187.8) per square meter, 5 percent
more than a year ago, Gazeta Wyborcza daily said quoting
Domiporta.pl data.
The sale of new apartments slowed down in the second
quarter, according to Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily. Rising
labour and materials costs have prompted developers to rise
apartment's' prices, so customers are less willing to buy.
PARTY POLL
Poland's ruling nationalist Law and Justice (PiS) party
leads the latest opinion poll conducted by IBRiS pollster with a
37 percent support, Rzeczpospolita daily said. Its potential
ally, anti-system Kukiz'15 party has 6 percent, it also said.
Other opposition parties have together 41 percent support,
which includes 26 percent for centrist Civic Platform (PO), 10
percent for leftists SLD and 5 percent for peasant's party PSL.
CONSTITUTIONAL TRIBUNAL
The European Court of Human Rights will consider the
complaint submitted by a Pole who claims that the Polish
Constitutional Tribunal has decided on his case in a jury, that
was set inappropriately, the Rzeczpospolita daily said.
If the Strasbourg court decides in favour of the Pole,
number of other Constitutional Tribunal's cases may be disputed.
JUDICIARY REFORM
PiS' leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski told Sieci weekly that he
expects the European Commission will not stop reforms in Poland.
The judiciary overhaul needs to be completed, as otherwise all
other reforms will be overturned by courts, he said.
Poland's current president, Andrzej Duda, will be PiS'
candidate in the 2020 presidential election, Kaczynski said.
