Caterpillar's second-quarter profit jumps on strong power, construction equipment demand Aug 4 (Reuters) - Caterpillar CAT.N reported a higher second-quarter profit on Tuesday, driven by sustained demand for its power-generation and construction equipment.
The company, seen as a bellwether for the global industrial economy, reported adjusted per-share profit of $8.17, compared with $4.72 per share a year earlier.
