    Italy's new rightist coalition got off to an inauspicious
start on Thursday when it split over the election of the Senate
speaker, who clinched the post despite a revolt by Silvio

    ENERGY
    Italian state bodies, including the influential National
Health Institute, are expected to give a positive opinion,
albeit conditional, on setting up a new terminal for liquefied
natural gas (LNG), the special commissioner for the project

    ECONOMY
    The Italian economy will grow by around 3.3% this year and
0.3% in 2023, the Bank of Italy said on Thursday, slashing its
forecast for next year due to weaker consumer spending, lower

    Italy's Monte dei Paschi di Siena will brave rocky markets
next week as it seeks to raise up to 2.5 billion euros ($2.4
billion in a share sale, after managing on Thursday to clinch

    French insurer AXA has committed up to 200 million euros
($195.28 million) towards the capital increase at its Italian
banking partner Monte dei Paschi, two people close to the matter

framework agreement with Algeria to develop activities of its

    A proposal to lift wholesale tariffs to access Telecom
Italia's (TIM)  TLIT.MI  fixed-line network could hamper

consultation.
