Centerra Gold shares rise; company appoints new CEO

** Shares of Canada-based Centerra Gold Inc  CG.TO  rise
6.3% to C$8.72
    ** Centerra appoints Paul Tomory as CEO, effective May 1
    ** Most recently, Tomory was executive vice president and
chief technical officer at Kinross Gold Corp  K.TO , where he
worked for over 14 years
    ** Centerra stock fell 28% in 2022, but is up 24% so far
this year
