** Shares of U.S. steel and aluminum companies rose after U.S. President Donald Trump imposed an additional 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum coming into the U.S. from Canada

** A total of 50% tariff to go into effect on Wednesday morning

** Steelmakers US Steel X.N up 4.3%, Nucor Corp NUE.N up 2.6%, Steel Dynamics STLD.O up 2.5%

** Aluminum companies Century Aluminum CENX.O up 7.8%, Alcoa AA.N up 2%
