    August 6 (Reuters) - Wall Street's benchmark S&P 500
struggled for direction in choppy trading on Thursday as
investors took a breather from a record-breaking rally earlier
this week and awaited any signs of a peace deal in the Middle
East.  .N 
     
At 13:30 EDT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI 
was down 0.85% at 53,886.07.The S&P 500  .SPX  was
down 0.28% at 7,701.81, and the Nasdaq Composite  .IXIC 
was down 0.10% at 26,337.82.
