    ** Co announces departure of CEO and President Jane Elfers
    ** Also appoints Muhammad Umair as Interim CEO, effective
May 20
    ** Co says board is committed to a seamless transition while
it conducts search for a permanent CEO
    ** Elfers joined PLCE as CEO in 2010, she began her retail
career at Macy's
    ** Up to last close, stock fell nearly 48% so far this year
