Wall Street's main indexes gained some ground on Thursday, a day
after the Federal Reserve's projections of fewer-than-expected
interest rate cuts and higher inflation next year wrong-footed
some investors and pummeled U.S. stocks. .N 
        
At  13:30 EST, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up
0.59% at 42,574.63.The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.50% at 5,901.62,
and the Nasdaq Composite  .IXIC  was up 0.49% at 19,486.76.
