** Australian healthcare stocks .AXHJ up 1.6%; on track for their best session since May 13

** S&P/ASX 200 index .AXJO benchmark index up 0.5%

** Biotech firm and sector heavyweight CSL CSL.AX shares rise as much as 3.7% to their highest level of A$250.65 since May 29, top pct gainer on sub-index

** CSL says it will trim R&D division across six global locations

** Shares of Clarity Pharmaceuticals CU6.AX and Telix Pharmaceuticals TLX.AX up 3.1% to A$3.14 and 2.6% to A$24.085, respectively

** YTD, sub-index down 5.2%, .AXJO is up 5.6%, including day's moves
