** Shares of Chinese vaccine developer Clover
Biopharmaceuticals  2197.HK  jump as much as 12.9% to HK$3.15,
set to mark biggest daily pct rise since May 23 if gains hold
    ** Stock hits the highest since Aug. 15; biggest percentage
gainer in the Hang Seng Composite Index  .HSCI  
    ** Sichuan-based co says its COVID-19 booster vaccine
candidate demonstrates robust neutralisation of dominant Omicron

    ** Says new data makes clear the potential for its COVID-19
vaccine candidate to neutralise the Omicron BA.5 subvariant and
as a universal booster demonstrating broad neutralisation
against the most current Omicron lineages and all Variants of
concern to date   
    ** The Hang Seng Commerce & Industry Index  .HSNC  falls 2%
and the healthcare index  .HSCIH  drops 2.9%
    ** The Hang Seng Composite Index  .HSCI  slides 1.6% and the
Hang Seng Index  .HSI  eases 1.7%
    ** As of last close, the stock had dropped 79.5% this year
