HK's CLP jumps on seeking 'long-term' partner for EnergyAustralia unit

** Shares of Hong Kong-based electricity generation and
supply group CLP Holdings  0002.HK  jump as much as 4.4% to
HK$59.80, their highest since May 18
    ** Stock on course for biggest one-day pct gain since
November 2008, if gains hold
    ** Stock biggest pct gainer in Hang Seng Index  .HIS  and in
Hang Seng Composite Index on utilities  .HSCIU , and
fourth-biggest in Hang Seng Composite Index  .HSCI  
    ** Co said it was looking for a long-term partner in
Australia to jointly invest in clean energy opportunities after
local media reported Macquarie Group  MQG.AX  was in talks to
buy a big chunk of CLP's local unit 
    ** The Australian Financial Review earlier reported
Macquarie could be front-runner for up to 50% stake in
EnergyAustralia
    ** Hang Seng Utilities Index  .HSNU  rises 1.3%, while Hang
Seng Composite Index  .HSCI  falls 1.2% and Hang Seng Index
 .HIS  declines 1.1%
