CMB.Tech's Q2 core profit more than doubles as Hormuz disruption continues to lift tanker rates
CMB.Tech's Q2 core profit more than doubles as Hormuz disruption continues to lift tanker rates Aug 27 (Reuters) - Belgian tanker company CMB.Tech CMBT.BR said on Thursday its second-quarter core profit more than doubled, helped by strong tanker and dry bulk markets, while vessel sales added a major one-off boost.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation rose to $552.8 million in the quarter from $224.1 million a year earlier.
Disruption to shipping flows through the Strait of Hormuz triggered a scramble for available tankers and sharp increases in spot freight rates, CMB.Tech said in a press release.
